Hey realtors, if you’re wondering how to improve your marketing efforts on any budget, reach more clients and increase your income, you might want to pay attention to what’s happening on X (formerly Twitter).
I know you might be thinking, “Isn’t that just a platform for tweets and trending topics?” Well, it’s evolving, and it’s becoming a powerhouse for real estate professionals. But not everyone is taking advantage of it or I should say, realtors are not taking full advantage of its potential.
I realize there has been some controversy over it, with many people, including former president Trump getting canceled and de-platformed, but since Elon Musk took over, Twitter, now X, is not only bouncing back but becoming a powerful tool to reach new clients and grow your business.
And if you’re still stuck somehow on the debate about whether some people should have been welcomed back to X, let me just put that argument to rest so we can move on.
Freedom of speech is in the Constitution, it’s part of the founding principles of our country, it’s a right, not a privilege that you or I can take away from ANYONE, not even social media and certainly not politicians. It doesn’t matter if you’re Right or Left. De-platforming people is actually illegal in our country according to the Constitution, and legal action should have been taken.
You can’t stop someone from speaking in our country just because they disagree with you, and you shouldn’t want to because one day it will happen to you too.
This is not a one-sided argument, I fully support both sides in speaking, debating, and talking about social and political issues. No one should ever be silenced like that. It’s wrong on every level.
Anyway, with that out of the way, let’s get down to business and making money.
Social media platforms are in a constant state of flux, often experiencing cycles of popularity that can last anywhere from a few years to over a decade. What once was the go-to platform can quickly lose its luster as user preferences evolve, technology advances and new competitors emerge.
For instance, platforms like MySpace and Vine were once at the forefront of social interaction, only to be overshadowed by the rise of Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
As engagement shifts and the demographics of users change, the usefulness of a platform can also transform, sometimes for the better and other times leading to decline. This dynamic nature of social media necessitates that users and businesses alike stay adaptable, continually reassessing which platforms best serve their marketing and engagement goals.
Just because X wasn’t the best place to grow your business in the past when it was Twitter, doesn’t mean it isn’t now. The platform is evolving, and it’s a great opportunity for realtors to adapt and expand their audience. By using X, you can connect with new clients while also staying in touch with your existing ones. Don’t miss the chance to grow alongside this dynamic platform!
AND, since Elon Musk has become the champion of free speech, the platform is attracting MILLIONS of home buyers and sellers…I mean people. Wink, Wink!
Since Elon Musk took over, X has undergone some exciting changes that make it a prime platform for realtors. One major improvement is the enhanced features that allow users, especially professionals, to use premium functionalities. Imagine being able to boost your posts to reach more and targeted potential clients! This is a game-changer because it means your listings and expertise can gain more visibility, especially in a competitive market.
One of the coolest things about X is its real-time engagement. Unlike Facebook and Instagram, where posts can get buried under a mountain of content, X allows realtors to share timely updates about new listings, open houses, or market trends instantly. This immediacy helps you connect with potential buyers when they’re most likely to make a decision or when they’re looking for a realtor. Think about it: you share a new listing just moments after it hits the market, and boom! You’re in front of eager buyers before anyone else even knows it’s available.
X is great for networking, and as a realtor, that’s invaluable. By following industry leaders and engaging in conversations, you can build and increase your credibility and knowledge. You’ll find that many real estate experts share tips, market insights, and even personal experiences that can help you grow your own business. Plus, when you join in on discussions, you may catch the eye of potential clients who appreciate your expertise.
Did you know that millennials are a significant demographic in the housing market? They’re tech-savvy and prefer platforms that engage them in a more dynamic way. X is perfect for reaching this audience, as it’s where they often go for news, trends, and quick updates. By tailoring your content to appeal to millennials — whether it’s sharing market trends, tips for first-time homebuyers, luxury featured properties, or showcasing trendy properties — you can connect with this lucrative demographic.
One of the standout features of X is its direct messaging capability. This means you can engage with potential clients privately, answering their questions or discussing listings without the noise of public posts. Imagine a prospective buyer sliding into your DMs asking about a property you posted about — talk about a golden opportunity! This personalized approach can make all the difference in converting interest into actual sales.
Don’t underestimate the power of hashtags! On X, using relevant hashtags can significantly boost the visibility of your posts. Think of popular real estate hashtags like #RealEstate, #OpenHouse, or even local area tags. By incorporating these into your tweets, you can reach a broader audience searching for real estate content. It’s like putting a neon sign on your posts saying, “Hey, look at me!”
While Facebook and Instagram have long been the go-to platforms for real estate marketing, X is stepping up to the plate. With its focus on real-time engagement, targeted marketing, extended and long tweets, video and photo galleries, live streaming, and networking opportunities, X is carving out a niche that should appeal to savvy realtors. Plus, the ability to quickly share updates and engage in trending conversations gives you an edge that static posts on other platforms can’t match.
X thrives on trends and conversations, and this can be a powerful tool for realtors. By staying updated on trending topics, you can tailor your content to align with current interests, making your posts more relevant and engaging. Whether it’s a hot housing market, new mortgage rates, or even home décor trends, jumping into the conversation can help position you as an expert in the field.
So, there you have it! X is not just a social media platform — it’s a burgeoning space for realtors to connect, engage, and market their listings effectively.
With real-time updates, networking opportunities, and powerful lead-generation capabilities, it’s becoming the best place for real estate professionals to shine. If you haven’t already, now’s the time to jump in, experiment with the tools X offers, and watch your real estate business soar! Happy tweeting, and may your listings fly off the market! 🚀
