The Law of Attraction for Realtors -Does It Really Work?

How Changing Your Mindset Can Attract Real Estate Success

Does the law of attraction really work? I think it’s a question most of us ask, in any field. But focusing specifically on realtors, to answer this question, let’s take a deep dive into what the law of attraction really is and how it can impact a realtor’s success.

Understanding the Law of Attraction

The law of attraction isn’t just wishful thinking or closing your eyes really, really tight and wishing for something. It’s about what you think reality is. If you think things are bad, then they’re bad, if you think things are good, then they’re good.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — you’re right. Henry Ford

Your perception shapes your world, and for realtors, this can make all the difference in your career.

I’ve asked myself for quite some time now if all this is a load of crap, just woo-woo, New Age nonsense or if there is actually something to it. And I believe, after a lot of reading and studying the topic, that yes, this is real, it’s true, and there is definitely a lot to it.

This has actually been written about for thousands of years. Nonsense never makes it past a couple years of scrutiny. So if it were all nonsense, it would have been debunked and forgotten about a few hundred years ago.

Consider this:

  • If you grew up in a home where dad made money all the time, and it was just accepted as normal life, then that is what you’ll probably think of as normal life. You just accept as reality that you make money on a regular basis. It’s just life. It’s just the way it is.
  • If you grew up in a home where resources were scarce, you were on welfare, and your parents were always broke, then that will probably be what you think of as normal life. Life is hard, money is hard to come by, etc.

This is how the law of attraction works. What you think of as normal, as a given, as what you expect to be true, becomes true. If your mother or father were doctors, then it’s probably normal for you to accept that you will be a doctor too, and more than likely, you will be.

The Law of Attraction and Real Estate

So, how does this relate to real estate? Well, you have massive competition and a very limited inventory to go around. There is simply NO WAY every realtor in your city will have a listing. There is simply not enough for every realtor to get a new listing every month. It’s just not going to happen. However, there are some realtors out there who seem to always land the best listings.

WTH? How does that happen?

The law of attraction. They themselves may not call it that, but that’s what it is.

These successful realtors just know and accept as reality that they will do well in their chosen field, real estate. So that’s how they act, how they live, how they behave, and that’s the reality they live in.

Applying the Law of Attraction in Your Real Estate Career

Can you use the law of attraction in your real estate career? Absolutely you can. Can you have all the success you want? Yes, you can, without a doubt. Here’s how:

  1. Accept your success as a reality, as a natural law of the universe.
  2. Know and trust it just as you trust water will come from the tap if you turn it on. It’s just a given. It’s just what happens.
  3. Don’t sit and sulk or be upset that you don’t have listings.
  4. Don’t be jealous or resentful of other people who have the listings and business that you want.
  5. See successful realtors as the standard or the norm that you will live up to.

It’s cliché to say, but don’t dwell or think about what you don’t have. Instead, start to accept that this new way will become your reality, that it is becoming your reality. Think every day that if you do XYZ, you will have XYZ. It’s just the way it is, like the moon coming up at night and the sun coming up in the morning. It’s just the reality of life. It’s not even in question.

Overcoming Mental Barriers

To truly harness the law of attraction for realtors, you need to dig deep and find those dark places in your life, in your past, in your childhood, hiding in dark places, in your fears and doubts, and start to face them.

For me, it was a dark and scary journey into my childhood to realize why I thought the way I did in order for me to change it. Do this to understand why you think you can’t be successful, and understand that it’s not your way of thinking, it was just programmed into you by other people.

Remember, you don’t have to be angry at your parents, grandparents, or whoever raised you. They were doing the best they could with what they knew and had. Just realize where your fears and doubts came from and where they now lie, and once you do that, you are free to change them. You have to first know where the lock is before you can unlock it. Make sense?

It might not be an overnight fix, but once you identify where those fears, doubts, and views of reality come from, you can change them.
