Consistent Daily Habits are Key for Top Producing Realtors

The Secret Routines of Elite Performers

I’m sure by now most people know that success rarely happens by luck or accident. In fact, I don’t know that it ever happens by luck. The most accomplished people in any field achieve greatness through consistent daily habits and practices.

This is not a new idea or my opinion. This universal truth has been espoused by great thinkers and philosophers for thousands of years, and it’s been proven time after time.

The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle taught that “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Over 2,000 years later, his wisdom still rings true across all pursuits — including the highly competitive world of real estate sales.

In any commission-based business, having a consistent routine and habits separates the top performers from the lackluster. History’s most successful entrepreneurs like John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie and Henry Ford all emphasized the power of steady, diligent work over time to build their business empires.

Fortunately, it’s not rocket science, it’s not a hidden formula, it’s something we can all do and repeat.

When Faced With Immense Competition:

This is especially true for realtors who face immense competition. There are over 2 million active real estate licenses in the U.S. alone, all vying for the same limited pool of listings and home buyers in their market. With so much noise and competition, consistent prospecting, marketing and customer cultivation are absolutely vital.

Top producing realtors don’t achieve their elite status by random chance. They get to the closing table more often through laser-focused daily habits and routines that provide structure and keep them consistently taking goal-oriented action.

While their part-time competitors may take days or weeks off between prospects, the top 1% are religiously practicing the fundamentals every single day without fail.

This could include daily call blocks dedicated to strategically contacting their database and circles of influence. It may mean sticking to a schedule of recording video updates and posting to social media platforms consistently. Or blocking out dedicated office hours for lead follow-up, marketing deployment or continuing education to sharpen their skills.

Whatever the specific habits are, the most successful realtors have ingrained consistency into their very way of being. This steady rhythm of action and prospecting serves to not only continuously fill their pipeline, but also subtly reinforces their tenacity and personal brand in a powerful way.

People are naturally drawn to those they perceive as committed, hard-working and successful. That aura of consistent hustle signals to prospects that this realtor will put in the diligent effort to get them results.

It breeds confidence and gravitas that money can’t buy. Consistency unlocks referrals, respect, and a steady stream of new business opportunities.

While some may look for get-rich-quick shortcuts, the path to sustainable real estate success is through steadily showing up and putting in the work, day after day, with purposeful, productive habits.

Stick to your process with unwavering consistency, and the results will be inevitable. As real estate legend Gary Keller puts it, “Success happens by design, not by accident.”
